Training Spotlight: Why did you get Microsoft certified?

Here’s an inspirational story from one of our youngest Microsoft Partner Network community members. It goes to show it is never too early to start building your MPN profile and certification status!

I'm a 17 year old developer from Suceava, Romania and I want to share my certification story with you.  I am certified in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (70-480) using a free coupon that I obtained from MSDN this winter.

I chose this particular exam because I know that HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript have great potential for my development career and I decided to take the exam after using a free coupon that I won on Microsoft Virtual Academy (which was my main learning source for these technologies).

I traveled 150 km from Suceava (my hometown) to Iași, the location of the Prometric center. I am a Microsoft Partner, I like Microsoft technologies, I develop on Microsoft technologies, and my dream is to work at Microsoft in the future.

I'm only 17 years old but I already started working on my goals to achieve this dream. In 2012 I was the youngest Romanian developer to have a published app in the Windows Store before the Windows 8 launch. At that time I published Social Brainz, which is a platform intended for students and teachers that want to share educational content in a fast and fluid way (which is the design concept of Windows 8).

Right now I have a number of Windows 8 apps published in the Windows Store and 2 on the Windows Phone Store. My next certification goal is Programming in C# (70-483) and I want to become a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD). I have already started working on achieving the MVP status on Windows Azure, because I love the concept of cloud computing and I can give talks about this subject, especially Mobile Services.
Check out more of Julian’s work on the Windows Store and Windows Phone Store – for example, his Social Brainz app and 7 Tutorials.

We’d love to hear your certification story too! Leave us a comment and tell us what you’re working on.

12 Oct 2013 - Why? You should get certificated too, they help you a lot in your résumé‎. You can also try non-Microsoft certifications if you don't do .NET :)
