We’re always trying to improve the partner experience at WPC. I’m pretty excited about what we’ve changed for this year’s event and want to let you in on some of the stuff you’re going to see.
I bet a good number of us have been a part of the two major platforms of growth this industry has seen – mainframes and PC/server platforms. At Microsoft, we are seeing an industry-wide shift to a third platform, which is built on mobility, cloud, social, and big data.
IDC initially outlined these megatrends* and sees their impact accelerating, from enterprise to SMB. Partners are the very source of what IDC calls “new solutions built on the new platform and rapidly expanding consumption of all of the above in emerging markets.” What an exciting time to be a part of this industry.
Mobility, cloud, social, and big data. It’s very clear that many of us are going to bet our businesses on our ability to capitalize on these dominant forces of change. WPC is our opportunity to take a deep dive together into these areas and learn how to stay relevant, compete and keep a step ahead of our customers’ needs. The main floor of the expo area (the Commons) will be organized around these central themes.
Here are a couple pics that give you a sneak peek of your Commons experience. The first pic is a shot from outside the Commons, the second is an area called the “Low Line”, where partners can meet, relax and take it all in.
(For those of you who have the same pet peeve I do, I’ve insisted the name of this expo area be changed from the unnecessarily corporate sounding “Solution Innovation Center” to “The Commons”, which is in line with the true community experience of the event. Sometimes it’s good to be in charge!)
MORE VISION, MORE PARTNERS AND MORE CUSTOMERS
The main stage vision keynotes at the Toyota Center are an absolute must see. On the stage this year you’ll hear more about our vision for the future together from a wider range of leaders. Every keynote, from Steve Ballmer to Kevin Turner to yours truly, will focus on a north star. You’ll see some customers on the stage as well. And YOU. The entire event is centered around you, your voice, your business.
There’s still time to submit nominations for Partner Awards. Having 16,000+ people hearing about and applauding your company is a big deal. And many partners tell me that they get a lot of mileage out of their award while at WPC with so many P2P business opportunities. So if you haven’t yet, think about submitting
for an award.
